Among the quaint Dutch community of Pella Iowa, nestled in the shadow of the nearby Historical Village's monstrous 1850's Vermeer Windmill, is Sunflower Pottery.

Surrounded by years of accumulated tools, glazes, molds and memories, apron-clad master potter Bob Andersen spends long hours in his modest studio creating one-of-a-kind treasures to the delight of customers and his many avid collectors.

Always within earshot is Bob's wife Connie, an accomplished artist in her own right, whose creativity and attention to detail can be seen in every piece of pottery she painstakingly glazes by hand. Connie also manages all aspects of Sunflower Pottery's business.

Working together, Bob and Connie have committed their lives to their three beautiful girls and to their work. Nearly palpable in each hand-thrown or hand-built vessel is the energy and care that they invest in that work.
